3 Peaks trail (Challenge)

Event details
September 10th.

The term 1/2 and 3 peaks is used to indicate the challenge ahead of you, its Dorset and there are slight inclines and then there are what we class as Peaks or Hills.
There will be support and feed stations on route, and we want everyone to finish, no matter how long it takes.
Challenge yourself, and when you look at your medal in years to come it will remind you of what you can accomplish.

This is an introduction to Trail running, its Mainly off road and utilizes tracks, trails and paths, there will be no km markers and you may need to climb things, gates, sty's etc.

Its defiantly a challenge and not a race.

The 1/2 or 5km / 10km distances are relatively easy affairs, but the 3 and 3+ 16km / 25km are real challenges and you will be required to carry a small safety kit to compete in it (Details are below).

5 km (Approx)

The 1 peak run (5km) will leave Symondsbury within site of Colmers hill and follow the footpath to Allington hill, its a nice mix of woodland, trail and track
as you run along the hill and loop back to Symondsbury the views of the countryside are a delight.

10 km (Approx)

The 2 peak run (10km) will leave Symondsbury and will also follow the tracks and trails through the Woodland of Allington hill, after a brief run on some tarmac, we head North for Dottery and the openness of Dorset, a quick hop across a road will send us back towards Symondsbury and with Colmers in the distance, its track, trail and open countryside all the way back to a great medal and coffee.

16 km (Approx)

The 3 peak run will leave Symondsbury and head east along the Hardy way heading for the sleepy village of Pymore, be careful of the landing Aircraft.
You are following the undulating path towards the Jurassic coast now, and are well on the way to the 3rd of your peaks if you haven't already run up them, the panoramic views over Bridport and the surrounding Dorset countryside are simply breathtaking.
There is a slight respite here as its all downhill, passing through the golf club, you know the Beauty of the Jurassic coast awaits, the 2 peaks are on the homeward straight now as we head for a small slice of cake.

25 km (Approx)

The 3 + peaks trail after West Bay and the above will head for the Eype downs and the wide open space and really is a hidden gem, as you see the whole of the Jurassic coast all the way to Exmouth in the distance you know every KM was worth it.
